Food and good beer are two of my favorite things in life. I love to cook and just began an internship with Foodista.com, an open-source recipe sharing website and food blogger community. I’ve also really been getting into local microbrews since moving to Seattle last year. My podcast will explore the intersection of these areas by providing a recipe, then highlighting a complementary beer to accompany the meal. A lot is made over food and wine pairings, but beer accompanies food just as well. The right beer can bring out something extra in certain ingredients or reduce a dish’s negative qualities, like spiciness or greasiness. I can see this podcast living on a website that allows viewers to search for recipes based on their favorite beer and also to search for beer based on their favorite dish.

This is a great concept by pairing both food and wine commentaries. I think it would be interesting if decided to have a constant format for the show that can keep the audience wanting to learn a recipe and taste a new wine/beer.
How long will it last?
Who are three people you would interview?
Will you add music or just natural sound?

Very interesting topics! Personally, I am a big fan of beer and food too. I can’t wait to “see” your podcasts.
Just a remind, food and beer are actually two different kinds of stuff we consume everyday. So, they should have different consumer-base. Being more specific about the content and audiences of your podcasts might work.

I’m a bit biased because I like beer and food
Suggestions:
- Could you also promote any applications that could help people find your “beer” and “food” items while on the go? ie. iPhone applications that people can use?
- You can definitely leverage Yelp.com to have another source/location for your subscribers to follow you.
- It might be helpful to focus on a neighborhood, a niche community like Capitol Hill, Queen Anne, etc.
